Why Tall Plus Beautiful?

One extremely helpful self-esteem boosting exercise is to create affirmations! I created the following affirmation to view my height and curves (characteristics that I once viewed very negatively) in a positive light: "I am tall! I am curvaceous! I am beautiful"

Thus, Tall, Plus (size), and Beautiful!

A little more about me...

My name is Jessica and I am currently studying developmental psychology. I’m especially interested in eliminating the pervasive acceptance of body dissatisfaction among women of all ages. Women are beautiful regardless of what size clothing they wear! As a community, we women need to work together to stomp out negative self-talk and body dissatisfaction to achieve the happiness we deserve!!

My experience is not unlike those of many other women. At a young age, my dissatisfaction with my physical appearance caused me to develop an extremely negative self-image, which lead to an eating disorder and later a mild depression. With the support of my friends and family, I have learned to accept my physical differences and enjoy what life has to offer.

My hope is to create a center of positivity for women; a place where women can come for a quick self-esteem boost, to help women maintain a positive self-concept and to prevent young women from developing negative self-images.
